Thessaloniki is a Greek port city on the Thermaic Gulf of the Aegean Sea. Church of Agios Demetrios is in the city center. A church you must pay a visit to. Below the church there are ruins of the ancient one and it is like a museum. It is an orthodox church that was destroyed and rebuilt. However you can see parts of the old church that are being preserved. The catacombs that Saint George was kept and died as a prisoner are worth to visit. Agios Demetrios is the saint that protects the city of Thessaloniki.

It is the beating heat of Thessaloniki. The square was busy throughout the day and it is the perfect spot for gazing out towards the Gulf. There are many good quality bars and restaurants dotted around the Square. It is Great place to stop and take a break from the hustle and bustle, chill out with a nice coffee and cigarette. Most of the cafes on the square have board game stalls outside them so its nice to pass some time and have a game of chess with the locals or other travelers. Nice square, nice bars and restaurants around, sea view, good resting area. Good stores around it takes u straight to the sea front where u can get on party boat, drink and enjoy the ride.

Aristotelis was a great philosopher of ancient greece, who was born in ‘Stagira’ town in Halkidiki .It is still a significant part of the lively square.

Bezesteni Market is the place where you can buy different souvenirs. This market is of Turkish origin and is the most beautiful in the Balkans.It was built in the 15th century at the initiative of Baiazid second. Currently the market is specializes in textiles and jewelry. It is an interesting Ottoman bulding of the past, which a decade ago was still housing many shops, and had become a nice small market. Now only few of the shops remain open and it is not what it used to be. Architecturally is still interesting.

Ladadika District:

You should not miss Ladadika since it is really a scenic neighborhood with many restaurants and bars and great nightlife. Many options to choose from. You will definitely enjoy it. Recommended, especially during late evening until early in the morning. Enjoy! Ladadika is a pedestrian only area located opposite the port’s central gate with lots of colourful two-stoney buildings with wide rectangular windows. It hosts lots of coffee shops, taverns, bars, and restaurants with ample outdoor seating. It is the drinking, dining and entertainement destination for tourists and locals particularly the student population.It’s a great place to walk around, to chill or have dinner and hear some live music.
